Jets’ Calvin Pryor Blames Ryan Tannehill’s Sh*tty Pass For His Big Hit on Rishard Matthews (Vid)
The very first possession of the Miami Dolphins–New York Jets game on Sunday afternoon, QB Ryan Tannehill threw a pass over the middle to WR Rishard Matthews. The ball was thrown behind him, he was unable to catch it. As the ball bounced off Matthews’ hands, Jets safety Calvin Pryor baptized him by throwing his right shoulder into Matthews’ back. The hit was so hard that Matthews had to immediately leave the game to attend to both his chest and his ribs.
This is what Ryan Tannehill said after the game:
Ryan Tannehill said Miami players were discussing on the sideline how Calvin Pryor celebrated after he knocked out Rishard Matthews “It was a good hit, clean hit. But to celebrate when guy is down is a classless move.”
Somebody informed Pryor of Tannehill’s comments and he immediately jumped on Twitter:
I was definitely celebrating the great play I made. I would never celebrate someone getting injured during the game. C'mon now
