Drunk Or Sober: Browns Plan On Starting Manziel For The Rest Of The Season
It’s official, doesn’t matter if he’s 3 times over the legal limit, Johnny Manziel will start for the Cleveland Browns for the remainder of the season.
Tony Grossi of ESPN.com said he is “hearing the Browns will give [the] next four games to quarterback Johnny Manziel.” Head coach Mike Pettine will officially announce his decision Monday, according to Grossi.
As Chris Mortensen of ESPN.com detailed, the Browns benched Manziel after “the emergence of video of the quarterback partying in Texas.” Manziel also “lied to the coaching staff about the video of him at clubs in Austin.” The team demoted him to third string against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 12.
Many fans were chanting his name in Cleveland during that 33-27 loss to the Ravens, but the Browns never gave QB a chance because he was still on punishment. The Bengals were absolutely killed vs. the Bengals which I’m sure prompted this move. Austin Davis is clearly not the answer!
