Jordan Spieth Hits Happy Gilmore at Florida Pro Am (Video)
Critics do not regard Happy Gilmore as a masterpiece of American cinema. However, actual moviegoers love the movie, so over the years it has become a sports classic right up there with Caddy Shack, Major League, and Slap Shot. And pretty much anyone who’s ever picked up a golf club has tried to hit a Happy Gilmore-style running tee shot at one point or another—including people who get paid to play golf.
The latest pro to give the Happy Gilmore a try? None other than 2015 Masters and U.S. Open champion and world #1 Jordan Spieth. Just 22 years old now, Spieth was just two-and-a-half when Happy Gilmore came out. However, at the 70th annual Grapefruit Pro-Am in Florida on Sunday, Spieth kicked off his round with country music star Jake Owen by channeling his inner Adam Sandler.

As you can see, Spieth made some pretty good contact there, which is no small feat.
Unfortunately, the ball hooked quite a bit and wound up in the drink. So I guess that’s Happy Gilmore 1, Jordan Spieth 0.
