David Bruton of the Broncos Played Sunday with a Broken Fibula (Video)

David Bruton Broken Leg

Broncos safety David Bruton let the sporing world know that he won’t be returning this season, having suffered a broken fibula early in Sunday’s game against the Steelers. After suffering the injury late in the first quarter, Bruton continued to play the entire game on his fractured fibula, to his credit, before finally seeking medical attention after the game.

He’s expected to miss four to six weeks with the broken leg, so barring a Super Bowl appearance (which isn’t out of the question), the Broncos’ stellar defense is going to be a man short for the remainder of the season.

Here’s Bruton’s Instagram post after the game, in which he called the blow that broke his leg a “cheap shot”:

Thank you all for the get well wishes. I truly appreciate it. Left it all on the field for my team. I have their back like they had mine on that cheap shot. I will bounce back, but for the time being, I am a player coach. Again thank you all for the get wells, and best wishes. #broncoscountry

I’m guessing this is the “cheap shot” he was talking about:
