DeMarco Murray’s Snitching May Have Lead To Chip Kelly Getting Fired (Tweet)
While Chip Kelly‘s firing wasn’t a huge surprise to those who followed the Eagles for the past three years, it may have been the actions of DeMarco Murray that served as the last straw for the coach’s tenure in Philly.
Several weeks ago, DeMarco, publicly unhappy with his role and production in the offense, went to team owner Jeffrey Laurie to talk some smack about Kelly. Marco said that the coach had lost the confidence of the team, among other things.
Among the things DeMarco Murray told owner Jeffrey Lurie weeks ago was that he had no confidence in Chip Kelly as head coach, I’m told.

It’s not likely that DeMarco’s talking out of turn changed Kelly’s fate at all, but it’s possible that Murray’s actions sped up the process a bit, since firing a coach in the last week of the regular season does seem a bit strange.
