Neymar to Become First Soccer Player to Get His Own Air Jordans
Big news for sneakerheads today. According to the folks at Sole Collector, this fall Nike’s Jordan Brand will release a special Neymar edition of their Air Jordan 5 Lows.
What’s the big deal? Well you see, lots of basketball players have gotten their own retro Jordans, and there have even been a few athletes from other sports to get customized Jordans—such as MLB pitcher Jeremy Guthrie and golfer Keegan Bradley. But until now, for whatever reason, nobody representing the world’s most popular sport has gotten their own pair of the world’s most iconic sneakers.
Jordan Brand certainly can’t go wrong with Neymar. At just 23 years old, the Brazilian Barcelona star has already established himself as one of the best and most marketable athletes on earth. If Nike wants to fuse street culture with soccer culture, Neymar is definitely the way to go.
At this point we do not even have a description of the shoes, let alone an actual image. But even if they turn out to be the ugliest shoes ever made, people are going to be camping outside Champs locations for days to get them. These shoes are going to be worth a lot of money one day.
