NFL Great Ed Reed Has Some Expert Advice on How to Beat the Patriots: “Pray” (Video)
New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick once called legendary NFL safety Ed Reed the smartest player he ever coached against. So it only stands to reason that if anybody would have an insight into how to beat Belichick’s Patriots, it would be the Buffalo Bills’ new assistant defensive backs coach.
Unfortunately, that is not the case. The folks at Inside the NFL had a little Twitter Q&A session on Tuesday with fans asking questions about this weekend’s conference championship games. When somebody asked, “how do you beat Brady & the Patriots?”
Ed Reed’s advice? It had nothing to do with strategy. And it probably won’t make Broncos fans sleep any easier.

That’s right. According to future Hall of Fame safety Ed Reed, the only way you can beat the Patriots is to pray. Pray that the headsets at Gillette Stadium actually work. Pray that Brady trips over his Uggs and tears his ACL. Pray that Gronk accidentally eats a bunch of decorative soaps shaped like fruit and spends the night before the game in the emergency room. Pray for anything.
Honestly, it’s not a bad strategy, either. Jesus is a Notre Dame fan, and Tom Brady went to Michigan.
