Draymond Green’s Mom Was Pretty Salty About Her Son Not Starting in the NBA All-Star Game (Tweets)

On Thursday, the NBA announced the starting lineups for the All-Star Game next month in Toronto. The Eastern Conference will send out LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, Paul George, and Kyle Lowry. Meanwhile, the West will send out Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Kawhi Leonard, and Kobe Bryant.

As usual, the lineups were fairly predictable. All-Star voting is based on name recognition, not advanced statistical analysis or even astute observation. In the East, Jimmy Butler or Demar DeRozan would have been a much better choice than D-Wade. In the West, Draymond Green—who leads the league in triple doubles—would have been a much better choice than Kobe who, statistically speaking, has no business being in the All-Star Game.

However, Kobe is an NBA legend and he’s retiring after the season. So of course fans made him the number one vote getter.

Still, the exclusion of Draymond Green was hard to swallow for some:
