Clippers Tweet Photo of Blake Griffin Shaking Hands with Equipment Manager…AFTER the Trade Deadline
Earlier this week Clippers coach Doc Rivers said unequivocally that the team was not going to trade Blake Griffin before the Thursday trade deadline. And he may have even meant it. But it sure is interesting that the Clippers waited until 11:03 p.m. on Thursday to post a photo of Blake Griffin shaking hands with Matias Testi.
Testi, of course, is the equipment manager Griffin punched in the face at a Toronto restaurant last month, breaking his hand and knocking him out for four to six weeks. The two are believed to be pretty close friends, so it was certainly nice to see them kiss and make up.
However, the Clippers could have posted a photo of the two friends kissing and making up earlier this week, when Griffin returned to the team. But they didn’t. They waited until after the 3 p.m. ET trade deadline, juuust in case they got an offer they couldn’t refuse.
After all, it would have been pretty weird to call Blake Griffin #family, only to turn around and trade him.
