Leafs’ Rich Clune Just Delivered Hockey’s Greatest Interview (Video)

Rich Clune

Last season, NHL forward Richard Clune split his time playing for the Nashville Predators, and their AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals.  And on two separate occasions while playing with the Admirals, Clune engaged in fisticuffs with the Rockford IceHogs’ Cody Bass.

Fast forward to tonight.  Clune is now a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and his current team is hosting his former team, the Predators, who just so happen to have Bass on their roster.  And if that wasn’t enough, Bass is also wearing Clune’s old number with the Preds, 16.

So during pregame warmups, Clue decided to reacquaint himself with Bass:

Unfortunately, the two were unable to turn their battle into a trilogy, as the Predators opted not to dress Bass for the game.  But that didn’t stop Clune from getting in a shot at his bitter rival during an interview with TSN’s Mark Masters during the first intermission.

It is, without a doubt, one of the greatest hockey interviews I’ve ever witnessed.  Check it out:

Clune claims to have beaten Bass on both occasions.  We have both fight videos below.  I’ll let you be the judge:
