Nate Diaz Was Drinking Tequila in Cabo When He Got the Call to Fight McGregor (Video)
Nate Diaz did not have a lot of time to prepare for his fight against Conor McGregor at UFC 196. McGregor’s original opponent, Rafael dos Anjos, pulled out of the fight on February 23, and Diaz stepped up on February 24. That gave him just 11 days to get ready.
So how’d he do it? How’d he pull off a major win like that with less than two weeks to prepare?
Well, the logical conclusion would be that Diaz must have been in the middle of a rigorous off-season training program when he got the call from UFC president Dana White. However, that was not the case. It turns out Nate Diaz was partying with friends in Cabo when he got the call.
We know this because Diaz himself told the world in a Facebook post on Monday. He even shared a video of he and his friends doing shots of tequila and tagged it #patron.
