Guy with Best March Madness Bracket in the Country Won’t Win $50,000 Because He Forgot to Pick the Final Game (Pic)
The winner of Yahoo’s March Madness bracket contest will receive $50,000. Right now, out of more than 3 million entries, three brackets are tied for first. Of those three, two have Oklahoma beating North Carolina in the Final. The other one, sadly, has nobody.
That third bracket belongs to James Kiki of Syracuse, New York. (Picture above.) He correctly picked a few of the early upsets, nailed seven of the Elite Eight teams, and has a perfect Final Four. For the final game he picked Villanova and North Carolina, and he even chose a final score. However, he didn’t pick a winner. He meant to pick Villanova. But he forgot.
Kiki only moved to the United States a few years ago as a refugee of South Sudan, and while he’s a fan of basketball he’d never filled out a bracket before. He only filled out this one because he saw you could win $50,000.
What does he think about his unfortunate gaffe?
“I don’t even want to think about it,” he told Syracuse.com.
Can you blame him?
