Bulls Coach Fred Hoiberg Offers Well Wishes to Craig Sager (Instead of Answering His Questions)
When legendary NBA reporter Craig Sager was first diagnosed with leukemia back in 2014, the entire league rallied behind him. When he made his triumphant return the following spring, the entire league celebrated. When he announced a few months later that the leukemia had returned, the league rallied again. And when he returned to work again on the opening night of the 2015-16 season, once again everyone celebrated.
If that doesn’t tell you how beloved and respected this guy is, nothing will.
Sadly, Sager’s leukemia is back once again, and this time around doctors don’t think there’s much they can do. But Sager has vowed to fight to the end and defy the odds. And the NBA? They’ve still got Sager’s back.
Earlier this week Sager covered the Warriors-Wizards game for TNT, and pretty much everybody who got near a microphone went out of their way to extend their well wishes to the colorfully outfitted reporter, including reigning MVP Steph Curry.
On Thursday night Sager covered the Bulls-Rockets game in Houston, and the result was pretty much the same. Check out this interview with Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg:

Definitely a classy tribute from Hoiberg. Though at this point I’m going to guess Sager would probably prefer people just answer the questions.
