NFL Prospect Jalen Mills Says Team Asked Him Whether He Would Prefer to Murder Somebody with a Knife or Gun

Teams ask top prospects all kinds of questions during the interview sessions at the NFL combine. Ostensibly the reason is to get a sense of their character so they can weed out the guys who are probably just going to wind up in prison. But they also seem to be very interested whether players are gay—you know, because that matters.

Anyway, this week LSU safety Jalen Mills stopped by the CBS Sports Network for a little chat about the draft process. The craziest question he was asked?

Are you ready for this?

“If you wanted to kill a guy, would you kill him with a gun or a knife?”

Obviously that was a trick question. The answer they were looking for was “with repeated blows to the head delivered by very large men over the course of 10 to 15 years.”

However, Mills said they were just hoping he didn’t say knife.

“How they grade it is, if you choose the knife, you know, now you’re killing for fun. You know, because you have to continuously stab somebody.”
