Danny Willett Wins The Masters After Jordan Spieth’s Epic Collapse
We’ve already talked about Jordan Spieth‘s epic collapse at the par-3 12th hole during today’s final round at The Masters—the one where he found the water twice before walking away with a quadruple-bogey.
That wild moment only tells half of the story.
The other half of the story is all about Danny Willett. The 28-year-old Englishman entered the final round in a tie for fifth at even-par, three strokes back of the lead. But he put together a bogey-free round of 67, catapulting him ahead of Spieth after the defending champion finished Sunday with a score of 73.
The victory is not only Willett’s first at The Masters, but it’s also his first major championship victory since he turned pro back in 2008.
