Josh Gordon Petition For Reinstatement Denied By The NFL
Suspended Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon will continue to be suspended after the NFL denied his reinstatement back into the league. News of him failing another drug test a month ago didn’t help his cause at all and living with former Browns QB Johnny Manziel is another step down for the troubled WR.
“Josh Gordon’s petition for reinstatement from his indefinite drug ban has been denied by the NFL, a league source told cleveland.com.
The Browns’ receiver can apply for reinstatement later in the year, the source said.
Another league source told cleveland.com that he can try again Aug. 1, which is right after the start of training camp.
It means Gordon’s availability for the 2016 season is in serious jeopardy, because the league can still decide on his case “when appropriate” after his application. Normally, they try to make such decisions within 60 days, but it’s up the discretion of Commissioner Roger Goodell.”
What’s left of his NFL career is slowly slipping away.
