Former Baylor DE Shawn Oakman Officially Charged & Arrested For Rape
As most NFL prospects get ready for the upcoming 2016 NFL draft, former Baylor Bears DE Shawn Oakman is getting ready for jail as he was charged and arrested for rape of a fellow student after leaving a nightclub in Waco.
Oakman was served with a search warrant on Wednesday for his DNA and his cellphone.
“Immediately after the execution of those search warrants, Mr. Oakman was served with a warrant of arrest for a charge of sexual assault,” Waco police said in a statement on Facebook. “He was taken into custody and transported to the county jail without incident.”“Waco police on Wednesday arrested former Baylor University football player Shawn Oakman on charges he sexually assaulted a fellow student after leaving a Waco nightclub with her early Sunday morning.Oakman, an NFL draft prospect, told Waco police detectives the sexual contact was consensual.The affidavit, drafted by Waco police Detective Sam Key, said the woman met Oakman at a Baylor-area bar on Speight Avenue and Oakman asked her if she wanted to go to his residence. They walked to Oakman’s duplex and Oakman “forced” her into a bedroom, according to the affidavit.Oakman “forcibly removed” the woman’s clothes, “forced” her onto the bed and sexually assaulted her, the affidavit alleges.The woman left, but told police she left her panties at the duplex and lost an earring in the bedroom.”
