Alabama’s Spring Game Ratings On ESPN Crushed All Weekend NHL Playoff Games
Just taking a shot in the dark here, but Alabama Crimson Tide fans are just a tad bit excited about the upcoming 2016 season. The team is coming off a 2016 College Football Playoff National Championship, so naturally 76,212 Crimson Tide fans showed up at Saturday’s spring game to show their appreciation.
Impressive showing by Tide fans at a spring game. What’s even more impressive is that game was broadcast on ESPN and it topped all NHL playoff games in ratings.
Not totally surprised, but Alabama spring game on ESPN on Saturday (0.6 overnight rating) topped all weekend NHL Playoff games on cable TV

There were plenty of upset NHL fans who tried to explain the reasoning behind this:
@AustinKarp NHL games were blacked out. You compare apples and oranges.

@AustinKarp in fairness, bama fans’ tv’s are stuck on one channel, and they arent’ smart enough to learn how to change it anyway
