English Golfer Named “Beef” Can’t Wait to “Get Hammered” After Winning European Tour’s Spanish Open (Video)
On Sunday, a guy named Beef won the European Tour’s Spanish Open, then gave an interview in which he proclaimed that he can’t wait to go home and “get hammered” with friends and family.
Obviously, Beef is our new favorite golfer. His actual name, for those of you wondering, is Andrew Johnston. He hails from North London, and he’s been playing professionally since 2011. After finishing first in prize money on the second-tier Challenge Tour in 2014, Johnston earned his European Tour card for 2015 and finished 70th out of 294. His win at the 2016 Real Club Valderrama Open de España this weekend is his first on the European Tour, and it earned him $380K—only about $100K less than he earned all of last year.
No wonder Beef was so happy. Take a look:

Beef finished one stroke up on Joost Luiten and two up on Sergio Garcia. When he was finished, he burst into tears.
“It’s a dream come true really,” he told The Guardian. “You always try to picture yourself coming down the last trying to hole that winning putt. It’s pretty surreal. I came off the course and I just started crying with the emotion of it. I don’t think it will hit me for a few days.”
Whenever it “hits” him, chances are Beef will be in the pub.
