Report: TNT Wants Kobe Bryant on ‘Inside the NBA’
According to TMZ, the folks at TNT have reached out to the recently retired Kobe Bryant and offered him a gig on Inside the NBA.
At this point we don’t know if they’ve looking for a temporary gig for the 2016 playoffs, or a permanent one starting next season. All we know is that one source said “we’d love to have Kobe.”
This news is hardly surprising. Kobe has probably received lucrative offers from ESPN and TWC Sports, too. But the idea of Kobe on TNT is easily the most absurd and hilarious. Could you imagine Kobe Bryant, Mr. Serious, sitting at the same desk as Shaquille O’Neal and Charles Barkley? Can you imagine Kobe trying to break down a game while Sir Charles flaps his arms like a bird? Can you imagine him taking part in a shirt-off? No, of course you can’t. It’s ridiculous.
On the other hand, it’s hard to imagine Kobe passing up the chance to make more money than Shaq. Because you know he wouldn’t sign on unless TNT guaranteed him twice what Shaq makes.
What do you think? Do you want to see Kobe working for TNT next year? Kenny Smith sure does.
