Jets Center Nick Mangold Heckled the Penguins So Hard, Security Had to Tell Him to Cool It (Pic)
Just because you’re a professional athlete, that doesn’t mean you can’t be a fan. However, you would expect professional athletes to take it easy on other professional athletes, seeing as how they know what it feels like to be heckled.
Not New York Jets center Nick Mangold, though. He was at Game 3 between the Rangers and Penguins at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night along with free agent quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and wide receiver Eric Decker. The three had seats in the front row behind the Penguins bench, and according to people who were there, Mangold heckled the Penguins without mercy. In fact, Mangold was so out of control that security had to come tell him to chill out more than once.
Like Jets player, like Jets fan.
Mangold’s primary targets, apparently, were Penguins franchise center Sidney Crosby and assistant coach Rick Tocchet:
As you can see, Fitzpatrick and Decker were amused, but slightly sheepish:
Unfortunately for the Rangers, Mangold’s antics didn’t have any affect on the visitors. Pittsburgh won the game 3-1 and now lead their best-of-seven series 2-1.
