Tiger Woods Registers For U.S. Open in June, Hints at Possible Return Date
With a lengthy ESPN profile and increased public appearances, it seems that Tiger Woods is back in the forefront of golf fan’s minds. Now we’re learning that, back on April 4th, the golf star had registered (just 30 minutes before the cutoff) for the U.S. Open, which will be held at Oakwood Country Club in mid-June.
If he’s able to recover according to his timeline, (which we aren’t privy to), then it’s very unlikely that the Open will be his first gig back. Many are thinking that the Memorial Open in Dublin, Ohio on June 2nd could be the most likely warm-up. Woods has never missed a cut there, and it’s both close enough to be considered a warm-up, but with a week in between to treat any issues or rest heading into the US Open.
Last year, Tiger missed the cut in all the majors save for the Masters. He’ll be looking for some redemption this time around.
