Jeremy Lin Does the Jordan Shrug, Says It Wasn’t the Jordan Shrug (Video)
Charlotte Hornets guard Jeremy Lin turned in a performance that had people comparing him to Michael Jordan on Monday night. Though not in the way you might think.
Don’t get me wrong, Lin played a great game. The guy played 34 minutes off the bench and scored 21 points while shooting .600 from the field. But that’s not exactly Jordan territory.
The comparison to Jordan stems from something Lin did after his lone three-pointer. You see, it was a damn lucky shot that was way off the mark but banked in off the backboard. So when Lin turned around to run back down the court, he gave his bench a Jordan shrug. (You know, like Jordan did in the ’92 Finals.)
Take a look:
As you can see, Michael Jordan was not impressed.
After the game, Lin said he didn’t do it on purpose.
“No, no, I didn’t even think about that until after the game when they said that,” Lin explained. “Me and Kemba [Walker] were talking about that. That was kind of Angels in the Outfield, a blessing from God. That shot, when I let it go, I was like, yo, there’s no chance this goes in. And it went in. So thank God.”
Sure, Jeremy. Blame the angels.
