Rangers Defenseman Dan Boyle Tells New York Post Reporter to “Get the F*ck Out” at Post-Elimination Media Scum (Video)
Rangers defenseman Dan Boyle is 39 years old and has most likely played his last NHL game. And that’s probably a good thing, because the dude no longer has any f*cks to give.
On Tuesday, Boyle spoke to the media for the last time after the Rangers were eliminated by the Penguins in five games in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. However, there was one reporter at the scrum with whom Boyle had absolutely no interest in speaking. So he told the guy to f*ck off. Literally.
The reporter in question was Larry Brooks of the New York Post.
Check out their NSFW interaction:
An unprofessional outburst? Perhaps. But Boyle wasn’t entirely wrong. Nobody on the Rangers likes or respects Larry Brooks. He doesn’t just “cover” the Rangers. He trolls them to manufacture new angles.
Who could forget this pleasant encounter with then head coach John Tortarella back in 2010:
So yeah, there’s history here. Brooks has a certain reputation inside the Blueshirts locker room. And he was particularly critical of Boyle. So Boyle finally said “f*ck it” and gave Brooks a piece of his mind.
Can you blame him?
