Philly BBQ Joint Mocks Sam Bradford by Naming Sandwich After Him and Giving It Away for Free (Pic)
Oh Sam Bradford. You should have just put your head down and gone about doing your job. You just signed a contract that guarantees you $22 million over the next two years. But you didn’t like that the Eagles decided to draft a new “franchise quarterback.” So you spoke up. And now? Now you’re being mocked by a sandwich. A sandwich, Sam.
Drew Abbruzzese, owner of Big Q BBQ in Levittown, PA, is sick of Bradford’s whining. So on Wednesday, he’s giving away 150 Sam Bradford sandwiches, every ingredient in which is a dig at the pouting QB.
There’s pulled pork, which represents Bradford getting pulled. There’s deep-fried jalapeños, which represent Bradford being on the hot seat. There’s a potato roll, which represents Bradford going down like a sack of potatoes. There’s spicy cream cheese, which is a salute to Eagles fans. And then there’s fried chicken, which represents the fact that Bradford, a chicken, is cooked.
Oh, and the sandwich comes with a moist towelette, so people can clean themselves up and move on when they’re done with the Sam Bradford.
If you’re a hungry Eagles fan who can’t be one of the 150 people to get a Sam Bradford sandwich for free, don’t worry. Abbruzzese says it will be on special for just $5 until Bradford gets traded. After that the price will go up to seven bucks, which, not coincidentally, is Bradford’s jersey number.
UPDATE: Due to overwhelming demand, the special has been extended to 4pm Wednesday.
