Craig Sager Worked Thunder-Spurs Game 5, Despite Being in the Middle of Chemo
Craig Sager, who has been famously fighting cancer following a diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia, took to the court in San Antonio yesterday for Game 5 of the Spurs-Thunder series, despite being in the middle of a chemotherapy round to treat the disease.
His daughter, Kacy, outlined the logistics for her dad to work the game amid the hectic healthcare schedule:
My dad is in the middle of 8 days of chemo, drove 3.5 hours from HOU to SA to work this game, driving back in the am. Absurd. #SagerStrong

Given Sager’s tenacity in returning to work, we hope that it not only doesn’t impact his treatment, but is also a sign that he’s tough enough to battle this cancer until he’s clear. The outcome remains to be seen, but he’s got a lot of people rooting for him in his corner, that’s for sure.
