Mets Ace Noah Syndergaard Shows Up Bartolo Colon, Jacks TWO Dingers in 4-3 Win Over Dodgers (Video)
Mets pitchers Noah Syndergaard and Bartolo Colon could not be more different. Syndergaard is 23, Colon 42. Syndergaard is a physical specimen at 6’6″ and 242 pounds, Colon is a beard away from being a mall Santa at 5’11” and 283 pounds. Syndergaard throws the ball 102 miles per hour, Colon about 88. Syndergaard’s nickname (Thor) was given in earnest, Colon’s (Big Sexy) given in jest.
However, this week Syndergaard and Colon do have one thing in common. Both of them jacked unlikely home runs in Southern California.
Colon hit the “shot heard round the world” of the 21st century last Friday in San Diego. Syndergaard did his damage Wednesday night in LA.
Of course Syndergaard, being the stud that he is, didn’t hit just one dinger. He hit two.
Here’s the first, which came in the third inning Wednesday night off Dodgers starter Kenta Maeda:
And here’s the second, which came off Maeda again, this time in the top of the fifth with runners on first and second:
Syndergaard now has two hits on the year, and they’re both home runs. He also pitched eight innings on Wednesday, giving up two earned runs, walking one, and striking out six. So, final score: Noah Syndergaard 4, Los Angeles Dodgers 3.
Your move, Colon.
