Rougned Odor Clocks Jose Bautista With a Hard Right During Jays-Rangers Brawl (Videos)
The Toronto Blue Jays and Texas Rangers had already played six games without any incidents following Jose Bautista‘s “bat-flip heard round the world” during Game 5 of last year’s ALDS, but during their seventh meeting of the season on Sunday, shit finally hit the fan.
It all went down during the top of the 8th inning. After being hit by a Matt Bush pitch to start the inning, Bautista attempted to break up a double play with a hard slide at second base on Rougned Odor. The Rangers’ second baseman obviously didn’t appreciate that, so he retaliated by shoving the Jays outfielder and clocking him with a clean right cross to the jaw:

Both benches cleared and when it was all said and done, Bautista and Josh Donaldson were ejected for the Jays, while Odor and bench coach Steve Buchele got the boot for the Rangers.
The benches cleared once again when the Jays’ Jesse Chavez hit Prince Fielder with his first pitch in the bottom of the 8th, but no haymakers were thrown this time around. In the end, a total of 8 players and managers were ejected throughout the course of the game, which the Rangers won, 7-6.
The rivalry grows stronger.
