Fat Joe Finally Reveals Which Knicks Player Notorious B.I.G. Song “I Got a Story to Tell” Was About (Video)
One of the biggest mysteries in hip hop has finally been solved: the name of the New York Knicks player at the center of Notorious B.I.G.‘s “I Got a Story to Tell.”
If you’re familiar with Biggie’s catalogue, then you know that song tells the supposedly true story of the time Biggie robbed an unnamed New York Knicks player at gunpoint after banging his girl. According to the version of the story told in the song (which you can listen to below), Biggie and the girl were upstairs going at it when the player arrived home unexpectedly. But rather than have an awkward, potentially violent confrontation, Biggie tied the girl up, put a scarf over his face, and robbed the Knicks player at gunpoint. You know, because being the victim of an armed robbery isn’t as bad as finding your girl in bed with another guy.
For 20 years now, people have wondered who that player was. Now we finally know. According to Fat Joe, who made an appearance on Highly Questionable with Dan Le Batard and Bomani Jones, the Knicks player who got cuckolded and robbed at gunpoint by the Notorious B.I.G. was Anthony Mason, who sadly passed away in 2015.
Of course, Fat Joe also suggested that Biggie may have “stretched the truth” a bit on “I Got a Story to Tell,” which is hardly surprising since you never heard about Anthony Mason reporting an armed robbery to police. But it’s still pretty awesome to finally know part of the truth.

You have to love the reaction from Jones and Le Batard, there. They are legitimately surprised that they actually got an answer.
