Steven Adams Apologizes For Referring To The Warriors As ‘Quick Little Monkeys’

Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams said those unfortunate words in an attempt to describe Golden State Warriors guards Klay Thompson & Stephen Curry. It was clearly unintentional, but it’s the social media era where everybody is fake outraged about everything online.

In an interview with USA Today’s Sam Amick, Steven Adams apologized for using those words.

“It was just a poor choice of words, mate,” Adams told USA TODAY Sports. “I wasn’t thinking straight. I didn’t know it was going to upset anyone, but I’m truly sorry. It was just a poor choice of words. I was just trying to express how difficult it was chasing those guys around.”

New Zealand is where Adams was born and raised and he blames the dialect as part of the reason he used the words.

“It’s just different, mate,” he said. “Different words, different expressions, and stuff like that. But they obviously can be taken differently, depending on which country you’re in. I’m assimilating, mate, still trying to figure out the boundaries. But I definitely overstepped them tonight.”

No harm, no foul. On to game 2.
