UFC Heavyweight Champ Stipe Miocic Takes BP with Hometown Indians, Hits Home Run, Is Cleveland Legend (Videos)
Nobody expected Stipe Miocic beat UFC heavyweight champ Fabricio Werdum at UFC 198 in Brazil last weekend. Miocic is from Cleveland, and as you know, Cleveland athletes don’t win championships.
However, Stipe Miocic did beat Fabricio Werdum. And he did it in shocking fashion, with a devastating right hook just a little more than two minutes into the fight.
Now Stipe Miocic isn’t just the UFC heavyweight champion. He’s a hometown hero, the first Cleveland athlete to win any kind of championship in over 50 years. So on Tuesday night the Indians made him their guest of honor, inviting him to take batting practice and throw out the ceremonial first pitch. And naturally, because he’s a beast (and because he played baseball in high school and college) Miocic hit one out of the park in batting practice.

LeBron better get it done this year or Nike is going to put Stipe Miocic on the side of a building in downtown Cleveland.
