Raptors Nonna: Toronto Turned Things Around Vs. Cleveland Because Adorable Italian Granny Lifted Evil Curse (Video)
After the first two games of the NBA’s Eastern Conference Finals in Cleveland last week, in which the Cavaliers obliterated the hapless Raptors, everybody thought the series was over. The Raptors could do nothing to prevent LeBron James from making his sixth straight trip to the NBA Finals.
Then something crazy happened. The Raptors turned the tables on the Cavs and obliterated them in Game 3. Then they turned in another solid performance to win Game 4. And suddenly the series was all tied up at two games a piece.
So what caused this epic turnaround? Well, it’s pretty simple, really. A local news reporter just had her Italian grandma lift the evil curse that had been placed on the Raptors.
You listening, Warriors fans?
Last Friday, Stella Acquisto of Toronto’s CityNews took a cameraman to her nonna’s house in the Toronto suburb of Woodbridge. There, nonna poured some vegetable oil in a plate of water and determined that, yes, a “malocchio” (literally “evil eye”) curse had been placed on the Raptors. So nonna said a series of prayers to lift the curse, and the rest is history.
Needless to say, Raptors fans were very grateful for nonna’s intervention:

Now Raptors fans are just hoping the Cavaliers don’t have any magic nonna’s of their own.
