Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, and Kristaps Porzingis Suit Up for Bizarre Ghostbusters NBA Finals Ad (Video)
Did you watch Game 1 of the NBA Finals last night? Did you happen to see that weird Ghostbusters NBA Finals ad?
What the hell, right? That was some really weird sh*t.
There were actually two ads. The first was okay. Almost funny, even. It featured current Knicks Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis, number one Knicks fan Spike Lee, and Knicks legend Walt Frazier, and they actually made an effort to draw a connection between ghosts and basketball. It was still shameless and silly, but whatever.
The second one starring Kobe Bryant? That just made no sense at all. Kobe is the chief executive of his own corporation when he gets a phone call, puts on his Ghostbusters suit, gets in a Ghostbusters helicopter, and…that’s it. The commercial just ends.
Maybe there’s going to be a “Part 2” to that one. But I doubt it will help.

Everybody involved in that ought to be ashamed. Especially you, Spike Lee. The other guys are just basketball players chasing dollars, but you’re supposed to be a filmmaker, a creator of culture. I expect more from you.
All I can say it I hope the actually Ghostbusters reboot doesn’t suck as bad as this ad.
