Last night, millions of people around the world were glued to their televisions as the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers battled it out in an epic NBA Finals Game 7 that featured 11 ties, 20 lead changes, a three-minute stretch in which the score was 89-89, an insane block from LeBron James, a step-back three from Kyrie Irving, improbably clutch defense from Kevin Love, and a nail-in-the-coffin free throw from LeBron only moments after injuring his shooting wrist.

Among those millions was President Obama. He watched the game on Air Force One on his way back from Yosemite National Park in California. And it turns out he was so into it that, even after Air Force One touched down back in DC, the President and his family stayed on the plane until the game was over.

Later, when Obama and the fam finally made it back to the White House, he refused to answer questions from reporters about the game.

Perhaps it was because he was as emotionally spent as the rest of us. Or perhaps it was because he had already tweeted his thoughts on the matter.

I know I should hate Obama because he’s a Muslim terrorist who wants to take away all our guns. But dammit, you have to respect a guy who knows when to stop politicking and watch some basketball.

Hat Tip – [The Score]
