Cleveland Indians Celebrate Cavs Championship by Putting LeBron and the Larry O’Brien Trophy on Kiss Cam (Tweets + Video)
There have not been many sports championship that have meant more to an entire city than the Cleveland Cavaliers 2016 NBA Championship. Until Sunday, that town had not experienced a championship—and the feelings of joy, camaraderie, and goodwill that come with it—since 1964. If you are from Cleveland and are under the age of 70, your biggest sports memories are of gut-wrenching failures, from the Browns’ loss in the ’87 AFC Championship Game, to the Indians loss in the ’97 World Series. But on Sunday the Cavaliers changed all that. And the impact goes way beyond basketball. Everybody in Cleveland feels it. Even the Indians.
Take a look at how they celebrated the Cavs during Monday night’s game against the Rays:

LeBron wasn’t actually at the game, of course. It was a screen shot from this Instagram video:

But it was still awesome, and the Tribe really should just retire the Kiss Cam now, because NOTHING will ever beat that.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, the Larry O’Brien Trophy isn’t like the Stanley Cup. Every champion gets their own to keep. So that is not the same one Warriors Owner Joe Lacob had sex with last year.
