Report: Brock Lesnar Has Already Been Drug Tested Five Times for His UFC 200 Fight
Even though he’s never failed a drug test in his career, it seems that Brock Lesnar, who has come out of retirement to fight at UFC 200 in Las Vegas in a few weeks, has caught the attention of the US Anti-Doping Agency. According to the USADA’s website, the WWE superstar/MMA fighter has already been tested five times leading up to his big return to mixed martial arts on July 9th.
Lesnar had initially received a special exemption from the USADA (which didn’t sit well with current fighters) due to the fact that he had been retired from the sport until just a few weeks back.
Mark Hunt, who Lesnar will be fighting, had this to say regarding the exemption Lesnar got:
“I think he’s juiced to the gills, and I still think I’m going to knock him out. I don’t think [USADA exemption is] fair. I think it’s load of bullshit, I think it’s rubbish. I don’t think anyone should be exempt from testing. If they’re trying to clean the sport up, mixed martial arts, this is a bad way to do it. I don’t care who you are. It’s ridiculous. I’ve already voiced my opinion to Dana about it but apparently he (Lesnar) has been getting tested but he’s probably been off a couple of cycles anyway. I don’t think it’s an even playing field. But it doesn’t mean you’re not going to get knocked out. Frank Mir was juicing and he got knocked out. The same thing’s going to happen with Brock Lesnar.”
The results from Lesnar’s five tests over the past two weeks haven’t come back yet, and the UFC expects that he’ll be tested a few more times leading up to the fight. That should make Mark Hunt happy.
