A young Tracy McGrady learning under the GOAT, Michael Jordan, actually could have happened. Former general manager Jerry Krause wanted high school prospect Tracy McGrady in the worse way during the 1997 NBA draft, and he had made up his mind that he was going to ship off future Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen to get him.
Thursday, on ESPN’s The Jump with Rachel Nichols and Ramona Shelburne, McGrady revealed that the Bulls had a secret meeting with the young star and tried to make a trade for him on draft night in a deal involving Scottie Pippen.
