Nasty Minor League Baseball Brawl Between Astros and Rangers Affiliates (Video)

The Texas Rangers and Houston Astros have developed a pretty nasty rivalry in the three-and-a-half seasons since the Astros moved from the NL Central to the AL West, which is exactly what MLB was hoping for.

How do you know it’s nasty? Last year Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor got into a heated argument with Astros catcher Hank Conger over almost nothing at all (apparently Odor thought Conger took too long to step into the batters box) that caused the benches to clear and led to a face-to-face screaming match between managers Jeff Banister and A.J. Hinch.

Now even the Astros and Rangers minor league affiliates are getting in on the acrimony.

On Sunday, the Frisco Roughriders (Rangers) and Corpus Christi Hooks (Astros) got into a nasty bench-clearing brawl. Rangers prospect Yohaner Mendez beaned Danry Vasquez, and for some reason Vasquez immediately charged the mound looking for revenge.

Take a look:

Gotta love the way the cops came out to check on things after the fight died down.

Anyway, while a Rangers-Blue Jays playoff rematch would be pretty entertaining given what transpired between those teams earlier this season, a Rangers-Astros playoff series would be pretty great too. This rivalry looks ready to explode.
