Buffalo Bills Rookie Jonathan Williams Begs Cops For Mercy During DWI Arrest: “I Just Got Drafted” (Video)
Buffalo Bills rookie running back Jonathan Williams was pulled over and arrested for a DWI in Arkansas on July 14. Now TMZ has obtained video of the stop, field sobriety test, and subsequent arrest. And it contains a pretty sad plea for mercy.
Williams, a running back selected in the 5th round out of Arkansas, admitted to cops that he had “a beer” around 7 p.m. However, he was arrested after totally blowing a field sobriety test and refusing to take a breathalyzer.
It was when they placed him in the back of the cruiser that he begged for mercy.
“I really don’t know how to put this, because I don’t you to, you know, mess with your integrity or anything like that,” Williams said. “The young lady in the car before me drank a LOT of alcohol. I drank a 40 ounce of beer. I found myself being responsible, trying to be able to take her home before she drove home, because I was trying to look out for her because she drank—she was really intoxicated. I just got drafted not, maybe, two months ago. So I’m really not trying to be in any trouble.”
Take a look:
Nice try, dude, but the time to think about your career was before you got behind the wheel.
