Denard Robinson Speaks on Night He Crashed Into a Pond: “I Fell Asleep At The Light”
Earlier this month, former Michigan star quarterback and current Jacksonville Jaguars running back Denard Robinson had no idea how lucky he was to be alive after crashing his car into a pond.
Robinson spoke with reporters Thursday about the July 3rd accident and he stated he fell asleep at the light:
“I fell asleep at the light … I was at the light sitting there waiting and I ended up dozing off. It was late at night and I had a busy day. It was one of those days where I should’ve just stayed in.”
“I feel blessed, because it could have been a situation where I wasn’t talking to you right now … The situation could’ve been way worse.”
“I could’ve hurt somebody or killed somebody, so I’m truly blessed that nothing happened to nobody. I came out with no scratches and my passenger was the same way.”
Robinson was adamant he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol saying, “If that was the case, I would’ve had a DUI.”
