Cowboys LB Damien Wilson Out 2-3 Weeks Due To Paintball Injury
Going into training camp, the Dallas Cowboys knew they had injuries and a couple suspended players to deal with, like Darren McFadden‘s broken elbow, Lance Dunbar‘s knee rehab, and suspended players Rolando McClain, DeMarcus Lawrence, & Randy Gregory.
What they didn’t expect is to lose linebacker Damien Wilson 2-3 weeks due to a paintball injury. According to owner and general manager Jerry Jones, the 2nd year linebacker suffered an eye injury while playing paintball.
“We have a player that was hit in the eye by a paintball that won’t be here for 2-3 weeks,” owner Jerry Jones told reporters about absent depth linebacker Damien Wilson at Friday’s press conference.
“That’s real hard to grasp and figure those issues,” Jones said. “I’m being trite when I say it because it’s a serious enough issue to keep him off the field for a couple of weeks.”
“We feel good that he’ll be back here in 10 days, barring any complications,” Executive vice president Stephen Jones said.
Wilson will open camp on the non-football injury list.
