NY Jets WR Brandon Marshall Says Ryan Fitzpatrick Is An ELITE QB (Video)
Nobody was happier than New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall when he found out the Jets front office and Ryan Fitzpatrick finally came to an agreement on a deal after months of negotiating.
How Happy is Marshall? After the announcement, he challenged Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown to a winner-take-all car bet and he wasn’t finished just yet.
On Tuesday, ESPN’s ‘First Take’ visited New York Jets training camp and spoke with Marshall, and he argued that Ryan Fitzpatrick is an elite quarterback in the NFL.
“The only thing that’s frustrating is that I’m going into year 11 and I haven’t been to the playoffs. And every single day I walk out on this field, I have one thing in mind: to win a championship…” Marshall said. “So I am really pissed off about that, and we were so close last year, but close isn’t good enough. But I really feel comfortable with everyone we have here, especially with an elite quarterback in Ryan Fitzpatrick leading the way.”
New co-host Max Kellerman was the first to tell Brandon Marshall that he was the only elite player at the skilled position on the team. Then he asked Marshall if that was a true statement or not.
“That’s false! That’s false!” Marshall said. “Eric Decker isn’t elite? Ryan Fitzpatrick isn’t elite, throwing for almost 5,000 yards and 31 touchdowns? Isn’t that elite?”
