KHL Goon Damir Ryspayev Tries to Fight Every Player on the Other Team in the Span of One Minute (Video)
It’s the middle of August and the Olympics are in full swing, so most sports fans probably aren’t thinking about hockey right now. And that’s fine. I respect that. But you’re still going to want to take a look at this video.
You see, Russia’s KHL recently began its preseason, and on Monday the Astana Barys took on the Kunlun Red Stars. However, the game was called off just three minutes in after KHL goon Damir Ryspayev tried to fight every single player on the other team in a span of one minute.
Ryspayev, 21, is a defenseman for the Barys. Last season he played in 23 games but “only” earned 10 fighting majors and 194 penalty minutes. On Monday he apparently decided to see if he could surpass last season’s totals in his first shift.
And no, I’m not exaggerating. Take a look:
This is the “brawl” that caused Barys/Kunlun to end after 3 minutes. Damir Ryspayev should be banned from hockey. pic.twitter.com/b6OpcuUf5i

Officially Ryspayev’s actions are despicable, which is why the KHL has banned him indefinitely pending a disciplinary hearing:

Unofficially Ryspayev’s actions are hilarious. I wouldn’t be surprised if he eventually quits hockey and turns his attention to pro golf after Russia’s Federal Tax Service threatens to repossess his babushka’s house.
