Dak Prescott’s Debut May Have Jerry Jones Finally Forgetting About Johnny Manziel (Video)
Things were looking a little hairy for the Dallas Cowboys last week as their #2 QB, Kellen Moore, suffered a broken fibula and is thought to be sidelined for 3-4 months.
With injury prone Tony Romo sitting on the starting job, a reliable backup QB is a necessity for America’s team. However, with Moore sidelined, it looked like the Cowboys were going to have to broaden their search to include some veteran (and overpriced) free agents including Nick Foles and the ancient Josh McCown.
And, because the Cowboys belong to Jerry Jones, many thought he’d go sniffing around for head case (and mediocre QB) Johnny Manziel.
But now that Dak Prescott, whom the Boys picked at #135 in this year’s draft, showed indications that he could be the #2 guy, having thrown 2 TDs and gone 10-12 (and those incompletions were both dropped by the tight end) during the Cowboys’ opening preseason game on Saturday.
Here’s the clip of Jones talking about Johnny WHO?:
When asked about Manziel, Jones simply responded “Dak Prescott.” Simple and clear, right?
