Russian Diver Earns Score of ZERO After Back-Flopping Into Pool (Video)
Before we go crucifying Ms. Nedezhda Bazhina for being a terrible diver (she isn’t), let’s first just make it clear that this dive came as the result of her losing her footing.
Not only did she exit the board about 30 degrees off of center, but her dive, which was supposed to be a three-and-a-half somersault off of a 3M board, turned out to be just a huge back-flop.
Here’s the clip:
For her efforts, she got a 0.0, which I suppose means that she could have gotten the same score for staying in bed all day.
Sadly, that score pretty much ended her competition, keeping her out of the semifinals despite four decent dives prior.
A BBC announcer put it in the most BBC way possible, stating, “‘Wow. That is calamitous.”
