Report: Marshawn Lynch Considering NFL Comeback

When Marshawn Lynch announced his retirement back in February, a lot of people did not believe the mercurial running back was serious. That includes some of his own teammates, who thought maybe Beast Mode was just trying to find a creative way to get out of offseason workouts and the meaningless preseason.

Of course, in the six months since retiring Marshawn has insisted over and over again that he really is done with football. However, now it looks like the doubters may have been right all along.

According to Mike Florio over at Pro Football Talk, a source with knowledge of the situation says Lynch is currently “up in the air” about returning to the NFL. That same source says if Lynch does come back it would likely be for Week 4 or Week 5.

The Seattle Seahawks still hold Lynch’s rights. If he were to file all the necessary paperwork, they would have the option of welcoming him back to the roster, trading him, or cutting him.

According to ESPN’s Ed Werder, Lynch’s former teammates are skeptical about this report.

“I would think he would tell us, and he hasn’t,” said one unnamed player.

That said, you can never really put anything past Marshawn “I’m Just Here So I Don’t Get Fined” Lynch. If you’re a fantasy football player, be prepared to act fast.
