Rock Band KISS Takes a Shot at Colin Kaepernick During Concert (Video)
During the band’s strangely named “Freedom to Rock” tour, 1970s rock band Kiss apparently dug into Colin Kaepernick’s decision not to stand for the National Anthem prior to 49ers games. Frontman Gene Simmons has a history of this sort of thing, having called Prince an “idiot” for overdosing, and taking a stance that rappers shouldn’t be elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The band criticized the QB while presenting a check for $150,000 to a veterans organization.
You can watch the clip here, if you’re, for some reason, interested in watching Kiss take a stand on political issue:
They followed it up with this quote and the damn Pledge of Allegiance, if you can believe it:
You should remember, patriotism is always cool. Loving your country is always cool. Standing up, respecting and honoring our military is always cool. So, to show some respect between pick-throwing, we’re going to put our right hands over our hearts and why don’t we say the Pledge of Allegiance.”
