Darrelle Revis Says He Was Unaware That Marquise Goodwin Was a Track Star When He Got Burned For a TD
On Thursday night football, New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis was exposed once again, less than one week after getting burned multiple times by Bengals WR A.J. Green last Sunday.
While attempting to cover Buffalo Bills speedy wide receiver Marquise Goodwin, Revis found out just how amazingly fast he was when he got beat for an 84-yard touchdown in the 1st quarter.
Revis and the New York Jets had the last laugh as they won the game by a score of 37-31.
After the game, Revis found out for the first time that Marquise Goodwin was a track star and a member of the USA’s track and field team at the London Olympics in 2012.
“He’s fast. He’s definitely fast,” Revis told reporters. “He’s just a fast receiver. I don’t know if he’s a track star, but he’s just a fast receiver.”
Asked if he was surprised about Goodwin being on the Olympic track team, Revis stated: “No, I wouldn’t be surprised. I definitely wouldn’t.”
