Entire Seattle & San Francisco High School Football Teams Kneel During Anthem (Video)

Following in the footsteps and in support of San Francisco QB Colin Kaepernick, the entire Garfield High School football team (Pictured on left) in Seattle, kneeled during the playing of the National Anthem against West Seattle High School on Friday night.

After the game, Garfield’s head coach stated to reporters that the kneeling was agreed upon, and that several of the players had faced or dealt with police brutality in their own lives.

Also on Friday, the entire Mission High School football team (Pictured on right) in San Francisco all kneeled together as a cohesive unit during the playing of the Anthem as well.

“Harris said the captains said, “This is for helping everybody else in the world to understand that black people and people of color are going through difficulties and they need help. It’s not going to take care of itself.”

Harris, who is an African-American, lives a few blocks from where city police officers killed Mario Woods in December, sparking protests throughout the city of San Francisco and a Justice Department review.”
