Tim Tebow Arrives at Mets Camp & Already Has 3rd-Highest Selling Jersey on Team

Tim Tebow

The former Heisman Trophy winner, two-time national champion, and NFL quarterback Tim Tebow was signed to a $100,000 minor-league contract on Sept. 8 to play for the Scottsdale Scorpions, one of the New York Mets’ minor-league affiliates in the Arizona Fall League.  IT all happened after he held open tryouts in front of scouts from almost every squad.

Tebow is sticking with his #15, same number he wore in college and with the New York Jets.  And according to Jon Santucci, Tebow already has the third highest selling jersey on the team.

The power of Tim Tebow is in effect, because Major League Squads usually are not allowed to use a player’s name or image whatsoever until that player makes the 40-man roster, as those players are not considered part of the union until they hit the big leagues.

According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, sources said Tebow signed a bridge agreement with the official jersey supplier Majestic Athletic last week, which allows the company to merchandise him before he makes the majors.

It’s Tebow Time… #LGM
